IMF: No Greek request for aid; IMF looking at Greek banking issues

An IMF spokesperson tells Reuters that there has been no request from Greece for aid and that the Fund expects Europe to resolves the fiscal problems in Greece. IMF experts are currently in Greece looking at banking issues, the spokesperson said, unnerving the market a bit. EUR/USD has dipped back into the 1.3660s.

On Portugal, the IMF says there deficit reduction program is “broadly appropriate”.
