New Zealand Building Permits are up soon, due at 2145GMT.
- +1.9% was the prior month’s figure (MoM change).
- The market expectation is for a 3% rise.
We also have important figures out of Korea fifteen minutes after that:
- Industrial Production previously registered at -0.7% (MoM), while expectations for this result are for a rise of 1.1%.
- Looking at the figures on a YoY basis, the prior release came in at +0.3%, with expectation at 1.0-1.2%.
South Korean industrial production figures are an important indication of the health of the global economy – they are carefully watched.
- At the same time Korea also release figures for Service Sector Output, the previous result was -0.3%. The Service Sector Output figures are not as closely watched as the Industrial Production results.
- At 2315GMT Japanese Manufacturing PMI is out. We are coming from a previous month’s figure of 48.0 (above 50 is indicative of sector expansion). Note that Thomson-Reuters subscribers receive this data at 23.13GMT.
