Initial jobless claims and oil inventories highlight a light US calendar

The North American economic calendar is vacant today with only initial jobless claims (1330 GMT) and the weekly EIA oil inventories report (1600 GMT) to come.

Starting shortly is the ECB press conference and Lagarde should keep the market on edge for an hour and then it will be onto coronavirus headlines and Trump's continuing impeachment trial.
