Comments by Italy's deputy prime minister Matteo Salvini
- Italy must do opposite of previous governments
- Brussels can send as many letters as they want but "Italians come first"
- If Italy had followed EU suggestion, would only have 0.9% growth
Salvini continuing the rhetoric that Italy will not budge on its fiscal plans and that sets up a deadlock for discussions with the European Commission over the next few weeks surely. At this point, a lot of that negativity has already been priced in but the ongoing feud here isn't going to help ease market fears.
