Look at me speaking German. Isn’t the interweb a wonderful thing?
Translation (If it’s worked properly):- “It’s german inflation day and here’s the rundown”
Mike caught some of the numbers earlier and here’s what has been out so far;
All CPI y/y figures for June
- Saxony 0.9% vs 0.8% prior
- Brandenburg 0.9% vs 0.8% prior
- Hesse 0.9% vs 0.7% prior
- Bavaria 0.7% vs 0.6% prior
- North Rhine Westphalia 1.2% vs 1.1% prior
- Added: Baden Wuerttemberg 0.9% vs 0.8% prior
The main national number is due at 13.00 (gmt+1) and here’s what is expected;
- HICP 0.7% exp from 0.6% prior y/y
- 0.2% exp from -0.3% prior m/m
- CPI 1.0% exp from 0.9% prior y/y
- 0.2% exp from -0.1% prior m/m
By and large the numbers show a slight increase in prices which will be welcome news for the ECB. We’re unlikely to get much reaction from the euro as the regions more or less tell the tale.
