July Machinery Orders +2.8% y/y,

• expected is 10.3%, prior 16.6%

Yesterday afternoon from Japan we got August machine tool orders. Ryan had the data and a look at the poor trend in that data (check it out, here)

Earlier I wrote that yesterday's Machine Tool Orders data is from the Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association. Today's Machinery Tools data is from the Japan Cabinet Office.

So they are different data points, showing similar (buit not the same) things though

And ... a poor result on this measure today also. For the y/y (graph below), worse than expected, and worse than prior...
