JAPAN DATA: The narrower core CPI measure that excludes fresh food,
refined petroleum products and temporary factors such as high school
tuition cuts fell 0.4% on year in January, posting the smallest y/y drop
since -0.4% marked in June 2009 and following -0.5% in December, data
released by the Cabinet Office showed. The Cabinet Office calculated its
“core core CPI,” based on core CPI (excluding fresh food) released by
the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications today.
