TOKYO (MNI) – The ratio of job offers to job seekers at government
placement offices stood at a seasonally adjusted 0.81 in September, down from
0.83 in August, showing there were 81 job offers for every 100 people looking
for work, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said Tuesday.
The indicator of the current labor market conditions marked the first
month-on-month drop in more than three years since July 2009, when it slipped
from 0.44 to 0.43.
The September figure was the lowest since 0.81 in May this year.
