Also from the US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin over the weekend:

• "I think what the president is saying is, if we move forward on trade, that perhaps he'll be willing to do certain things on Huawei if he gets comfort from China on that and certain guarantees
• But these are national security issues."

What?

If the US-China trade war is resolved then Huawei is AOK. …

But … either there are national security issues or there are not.

What is doing here is giving us a glimpse through the baloney.
