The move up to 1.3233 in London on buying by a Dutch bank. Supposedly they bought EUR 2 bln, which , apparently turned out to be in error. What has to happen then? You need to sell 4 yards to get back to breakeven. The move to 1.3075 is at least in part a product of that mess-up.
Chinese buying has been rumored on the slide below 1.3100. 1.3075 is the low thus far, just pips below the important 1.3080 support.
UPDATE: We now hear the deal should have been a foward swap, leaving the bank with minimal spot exposure if it had been executed properly…
