NEW ZEALAND: The Reserve Bank of New Zealand will announce any monetary
policy changes at 9:00 am local time Thursday (3:00 pm EST Weds), with
the OCR expected to be left unchanged at 2.50%. UBS strategists look for
the central bank (in the accompanying statement and press conference)
to again offer “guidance for a start to removing monetary stimulus
‘around the middle of 2010.'” The strategists stress however that even
so, “the RNBZ stands a high chance of being the next central bank to
begin tightening…”
