NZD traders - a preview of NZ data due at 0100GMT likely to impact the currency

ANZ Business Survey for New Zealand includes Business Confidence and the Activity Outlook

The data hits at 0100GMT

Prior to that we get building permits from NZ:

• NZD traders - heads up preview for data due at 2245GMT - Building Approvals (June)

ASB preview:

• Headline business confidence deteriorated further in June and may remain weak in July.
• There are several potential catalysts, including ongoing uncertainty of the policy details of the new Government, global trade frictions, and the hit from the Mycoplasma Bovis outbreak.
• Investment and employment intentions remain well below historical averages.
• Nonetheless, we expect to see some gradual improvement in business confidence later this year, reflecting the widespread supports to the NZ economy.

NAB preview of ANZ's indicator:

• ANZ business survey .. We expect … to show confidence remains very much on the back foot. It's probably too early for the July business survey to be seeing the benefits from the fiscal stimulus via households that began 1 July. But we'll be bearing this factor in mind nonetheless.
