Business confidence is likely to get a boost (there is big BUT on this …. wait for it) from the New Zealand government announcing it had decided to abandon its capital gains tax plan:
The 'but' is that most of the responses to the ANZ survey were received before the announcement. So, while its a positive it'll not have much impact on the survey results announced today, but will for May.
Recent business confidence numbers from the survey have remined very weak.
