Oil slumped earlier but has rebounded after Bloomberg quoted Charles McConnell, assistant secretary for fossil energy for the U.S. Department of Energy, as saying a release “is being considered.”
On March 15, Reuters reported that the US and UK were considering a simultaneous release of reserves but the White House denied it.
I’m surprised oil isn’t lower on this but WTI is virtually flat at $106.94.
