Performance of major currencies vs the USD so far today
The AUD is the top dog at the moment, and is slowly inching higher post-RBA as it is now trading at 0.7650 against the USD. But the bigger move actually came from better than expected retail sales data earlier in the day - AUD/USD popped up 30 pips from that.
Meanwhile, the NZD is leeching off the higher AUD and is up on the day as well - but is failing to crack above the 0.6900 against the USD.
Apart from that, the loonie is still making its way higher (very slowly) against the dollar as USD/CAD is now at session lows of 1.2661.
And the laggard for the day is of course the JPY, surrendering back gains from yesterday where we saw US stocks fell (S&P 500 ended lower as tech shares suffered) and Treasury yields slipping a little. USD/JPY is now up to 112.58.
