RBA Governor Lowe is speaking as part of a panel, his comments reported here:
This remark:
- it is legitimate to ask how effective monetary easing would be globally
And this one:
- if everyone is easing, the effect on exchange rates is offset
are giving AUD a bit of a boost. Being read as making further easing from the RBA less likely. Or, at least providing an excuse to take out a few shorts.
Please note, if you are new to this monetary policy business, the RBA will be easing further.
