From WSJ – A German Central Banker has commented that central banks cannot force banks under their jurisdiction to comply with demands for full transparency. The report suggests some banks seem to have dug their heels and maintained their legal right against publishing confidential data. Perhaps there may be a few more skeletons/financial problems tucked away in the European banking industry or it may be a case of pride and guarding their well-enshrined rights within German and European banking law. I do not subscribe to WSJ but believe this is the essentail crux of the article.
