It’s a rare day with no data on the calendar at the bottom the hour but there is enough to keep things interesting.
At 9 am ET (1300 GMT) the Fed’s Stein comments on banking regulation. I wouldn’t expect anything market moving there.
At the same time the Canadian Teranet/National Bank housing survey for March is expected to show prices up 2.2% y/y.
At 1330 GMT, the always-unpredictable James Bullard from the Fed is on the docket. He’s speaking on the state of US and global economy and taking questions afterward.
The main event of the day is the BOC at 1400 GMT followed at 1515 GMT by Carney’s press conference. I’ll have more on this later.
At 1600 GMT, the Fed’s Rosengren speaks on the same topic as Bullard.
The US highlight comes at 1800 GMT when the Beige Book is released. The market has been sensitive to the anecdotal report on the economy recently.
