FRANKFURT (MNI) – The decisions reached by EU leaders at June’s
summit must be “implemented immediately,” according to a joint call
issued Tuesday by Spain, Italy and France.

Spain’s government said in a statement that the call for action
came after a meeting of the three countries’ ministers of European
affairs in Brussels.

Spain’s minister of European affairs, Inigo Mendez de Vigo, said
in the statement that “speed is an essential condition for the success
of any European actions.”

Mendez de Vigo complained of a “worrying time lag between the
decisions taken by the European Council and the implementation of those
agreements.”
