WASHINGTON (MNI) – The following is a summary of the October U.S.
sales performance of select auto manufacturers announced Tuesday:

* General Motors Tuesday reported total sales of 186,895
vehicles in October, up 2% compared with October 2010. Retail deliveries
were up 3% compared with the same month a year ago and accounted for 77%
of GM sales. Deliveries to fleet customers were essentially flat. In
October, GM’s year-over-year passenger car sales increased 4%, crossover
sales decreased 1% and sales of trucks, which include full-size pickups,
vans and SUVs, increased 2%. For the month, 2012 models accounted for
80% of passenger car sales and about half of truck and crossover sales.

* Ford Tuesday said it sold a total of 167,803 vehicles in
October, an increase of 6% versus last year; year-to-date sales up 11%.
Ford passengar car sales totaled 49,994 vs 54,430 a year ago. Ford truck
sales totaled 69,068 in October, an 8% increase versus year-ago levels.
Year-to-date truck sales total 651,837, up 9%.

* Toyota Motor Tuesday reported October sales of 134,046 units,
a decrease of 4.3% from the same period last year on a daily selling
rate basis. On a raw volume basis, unadjusted for 26 selling days in
October 2011 compared to 27 selling days in October 2010, TMS sales were
down 7.8 from the year-ago month. The Toyota Division posted October
total sales of 115,954 units, a decrease of 3.2% on a DSR basis from
October 2010, and up 4.7% from September 2011. Toyota Division passenger
cars recorded sales of 62,541 units, flat compared to October 2010.
Toyota Division light trucks posted sales of 53,413 units in October,
down 6.7% from October 2010.

* Chrysler Tuesday reported U.S. sales of 114,512, a 27%
increase compared with sales in October 2010 (90,137 units), and the
best October sales since 2007. Chrysler Group’s sales increase was
driven by retail sales that were up 40% in October. Chrysler Group
finished the month with a 68-day supply of inventory (299,896 units).
Chrysler Group truck sales (81,930 units) improved 17% compared with
October 2010 (69,775 units). Chrysler Group car sales (32,582 units)
were up 60% versus October 2010 (20,362 units).

* American Honda Motor Tuesday announced October sales of 98,333
vehicles, an increase of 3.3%. American Honda year-to-date sales reached
958,130, down 5.3% versus last year, based on the daily selling rate.
Honda Division posted October sales of 87,218, an increase of 3.2%
versus October 2010. Honda trucks posted October sales of 44,852, an
increase of 12.3%. Acura Division recorded October sales of 11,115, an
increase of 4.8% versus October 2010, and year-to-date sales of 100,261,
down 6.6%.

* Mazda Tuesday reported its best October sales in the U.S.
since 2007, with 18,326 vehicles representing an increase of 1.7% versus
October 2010. On a Daily Selling Rate basis, Mazda’s October 2011 sales
were up 5.7%. Year-to-date sales through October are up 8.7% versus last
year, with 209,641 vehicles sold.

* Nissan North America Tuesday reported October U.S. sales of
82,346 units versus 69,773 units a year earlier, an increase of 18%.
Nissan Division sales set a new October record, increasing 22.1% for the
month to 75,484 units. Sales of Infiniti vehicles decreased 13.5% from
the prior year, to 6,862 units.

* Hyundai Motor America Tuesday announced sales of 52,402
vehicles in October, a 23% total sales increase compared with the same
period a year ago. The year-to-date sales figures of 545,316 exceeded
the full year sales record of 538,228 set in 2010. Retail sales were up
27% over last October. Year to date, Hyundai sales are up 21% versus
2010 in total, and up 31% at retail.

* Volkswagen of America Tuesday reported 28,028 units sold in
October 2011, a 39.6% increase over prior year sales. Year-to-date sales
are up 23.8%.

* Audi reported record October U.S. sales of 10,225 vehicles,
topping the 8,128 vehicles sold in October 2010. Audi U.S. year-to-date
sales increased 16.5% to 95,206.

* Kia Motors America Tuesday announced October sales of 37,690
units, a 21% increase over the same period last year and the company’s
14th straight monthly sales record. KMA’s year-to-date sales are up 35%.

* Subaru of America Tuesday announced U.S. October 2011 sales of
12,703 and 124,13 year-to-date.

* The BMW Group in the U.S. Tuesday reported October sales of
27,288 vehicles, an increase of 17.5% from the 23,222 vehicles sold in
the same month a year ago. Year-to-date, BMW Group sales are up 14.6% to
246,602 in the first ten months of 2011 compared to 215,274 in the same
period in 2010.

* Mercedes-Benz USA Tuesday reported October sales of 24,449
vehicles, a 28.2% improvement over October 2010 (19,076) and the
company’s highest October volume on record. On a year-to-date basis, the
206,632 vehicles sold represent a 12% increase over the 184,431 vehicles
sold during the same period last year.

* Porsche Cars North America Tuesday announced October 2011
sales of 2,270 vehicles, a decrease of 14% compared to the same period
last year, when it sold 2,647 vehicles.
