2-year note yields rise to highest since 2008
Brainard's speech is going to turn out to be the main event of the week.
She hinted that the Fed is going to continue to raise rates beyond the long-term neutral rate because the short-term neutral rate is higher. That's a major potential tailwind for the US dollar and it's still got room to run.
The 10-year is also threatening 3%.
Keep a close eye on USD/JPY. It's approaching 112.00 and the Asian high of 112.08 and the Aug high of 112.16. A break could run some cascading stops with little else in the way of a climb to 113.00.
