May hasn't been able to silence the critics

One bad election result is a blow that Theresa May will never likely recover from.

The Guardian today is out with a piece called "Senior Tories cast doubt on Theresa May's long-term future as leader"

It recaps nearly a dozen instances of top current and former party officials calling for her to step down. They say she can't run in the next election.

She was dogged by questions about resigning in Japan today but was combative, saying she needed to get on with the job of Brexit.

Given the rabid UK media, it's only a matter of time until the relentless stream of critics lands a fatal blow.
