Second referendum if the deal is killed next week?
Some of Theresa May's advisers have urged her to consider a second referendum while others have argued for a softer Brexit, BuzzFeed News reports.
Conversations with the PM have started on what to do if the Dec 11 vote fails and one option might be a referendum between her Brexit deal and remaining in the EU.
"A source familiar with the conversations said May's chief of staff Gavin Barwell and chief whip Julian Smith have discussed the merits of a second referendum," the report says.
Cable rose above 1.2800 briefly on the headline but the story also says that May has 'vociferously' opposed the idea every time it is raised and that "it's the only time she loses her temper."
