Good day, everyone! Hope you're all doing well as we get into the thick of the action here in European trading. It's been a relatively quiet start to the day but there's some decent movement in the currencies space already:

The yen and the dollar are leading for the most part as other major currencies are slumping behind. Risk sentiment is pretty iffy to start the day with Asian stocks mostly in the red - Chinese stocks are now back in the red ahead of the close. European equity futures are holding steady so that's a decent sign at least but Treasury yields are more or less flat on the day to begin with so there's not much there to help with market sentiment.

The loonie is the other currency that remains well bid as Trump commented that NAFTA talks are progressing well and reports are citing that Canada is willing to make concessions to the US regarding protectionist dairy policies. But much like Brexit, tiny bits of news like that may paint a more positive light but key sticking points remain and there's still no solid evidence that a deal is close.
