Trichet notes US dollar talk with “extreme attention”

Past supportive comments from US officials are noted “with extreme attention” by Trichet and the ECB, the president says. The euro is very volatile this morning with lots of attention (bordering on “extreme”) being paid to a 1.4510 digital option in which China gets paid if spot is above 1.4510 at 10 am. Should prices rally into the expiry, it might be an opportunity to set fresh shorts for a quick trade as the options-related demand dries up.
