Trump needs to implement laws signed last year

The Trump-Russia story will be in the headlines to start the week. The President faces a Monday deadline to use sanctions powers he was given as a result of Russian meddling in the election.

Politico reports:

"The Treasury Department is required to begin imposing sanctions against entities doing business with Russia's defense and intelligence sectors as well as to produce a hotly anticipated list of oligarchs maintaining close ties to Putin."

The sanctions can be waived but most come with a certifications that Russian has made major progress on cutting back cyber-meddling.
