LONDON (MNI) – Output price inflation eased further in November,
helped by falls in the price of transport equipment and paper and
printing products during the month, figures released by National
Statistics showed Friday.

Factory gate prices rose 0.2% on the month and were up 5.4% on the
year, down from 5.7% in October, broadly in line with the median
forecast. Output price inflation has declined in the past few months
from a peak of 6.3% in September, and is likely to fall further as food
and fuel prices ease.

Core output prices, which strip out food, tobacco, beverages and
petroleum were flat on the month and up 3.2% on the year, in line with
the median.

Input prices rose 0.1% on the month and were up 13.4% on the year,
also in line with the median forecast. A rise in crude oil and fuels was
partially offset by falls in other product groups, mainly imported parts
and equipment and other imported materials.
