UK DATA: The consumer facing side of the services sector may have stalled, but
business and professional services picked up strongly over the past three
months, a November CBI survey shows. Business services volume rose to +16
Sep-Nov vs -21 Jun-Aug while consumer services volume gained only slightly to
-12 Sep-Nov vs -10 Jun-Aug. These CBI data buck the trend, with other activity
surveys for the early parts of the fourth quarter coming in weak. The October
CIPS Services PMI, for example, showed the weakest growth for 22 months.
