UK PRESS: The electorate is being cheated by the refusal of
politicians to spell out the coming cuts in public services, an
independent commission on their future warned on Tuesday, the FT
reports. The interim report from the Commission on 2020 Public Services,
chaired by Sir Andrew Foster, the former Audit Commission chief
executive with broad cross-party support, says a new settlement is
needed, the paper says.
