Comments by UK trade secretary Liam Fox
- Wonders if Commons has any intention of allowing no-deal to happen
- Says he is backing May ahead of next week's vote
- Doesn't want to get into menu of options if deal is rejected
- Says that backstop is a "calculated risk"
- Voting against the deal raises danger of not having Brexit at all
After the European court aide advice yesterday, suddenly talks of revoking Article 50 are being revived among some quarters in the UK. I still don't believe this is something they would pursue and Fox's comments here is merely a threat albeit not a very good one.
GBP/USD still holds steady near the highs at 1.2740 currently. EUR/GBP is also a little lower now to 0.8899.
