–Adds Fin Min Rejection Of EU Commission Eurobond Proposal

BERLIN (MNI) – The German government reaffirmed on Friday that it
expects Greece to be able to meet its fiscal and reform targets.

“The federal government hopes and expects that Greece will meet its
obligations,” spokesman Georg Streiter said at a regular press
conference here.

Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet Greek Prime Minister George
Papandreou on Tuesday in Berlin to discuss the situation in Greece,
Streiter said.

Finance Ministry spokesman Martin Kreienbaum on Friday reaffirmed
that the German government categorically rejects the issuance of joint
eurobonds. This applies also to the EU Commission’s recent proposal that
only the six AAA rated Eurozone countries could release joint bonds, he
said.
