The US Justice Department announced that a former Toyota executive will plead guilty to price fixing and bid rigging on auto parts in US cars. The Japanese national, Makoto Horie, agreed to serve one year and a day in prison.
It still baffles me that with all the crimes and fines and everything else related to the sub-prime meltdown, no one went to jail. Now they send a Japanese guy to jail for screwing US automakers. But if you’re a US banker who screws the entire US economy, you’re free to go.
