US DATA: BLS Oct state payrolls +175,700 vs +80k Oct NFP in the
employment report. State report says “36 states and the District of
Columbia reported over-the-month unemployment rate decreases, 5 had
increases, and 9 had no change. Nonfarm payroll employment increased in
39 states and the district and decreased in 11 states.” Oct Mass
Layoffs report: “employers took 1,353 mass layoff actions involving
118,689 workers. Mass layoff events decreased by 142 from September, and
associated initial claims decreased by 34,540.”
