expectations of 360k and lowest since week of Apr. 19 2008 (352k).
Claims in the Mar 24 wk revised up to 363k vs 357k originally. Labor
Dept analyst describes report as ‘very standard,’ with ‘nothing
unsusual, nothing unexpected’ in the state data. Only data for the U.S.
Virgin Islands was estimated. Seasonal factors expected NSA claims to
decline by 6,904 but actual NSA claims drop was by 12,504 to 311,339.
4-wk moving avg -4,250 to 361,750 in March 31 wk, lowest since Apr. 26
2008 (360.5k). Continuing claims -16k to 3.338m in March 24 week, low
since Aug. 9, 2008 wk. Cont claims NSA -74,771 to 3,624,702.
