US DATA: November CPI flat, as expected, but core was above expectations
at +0.2%, led by price gains for apparel (+0.6%), shelter (+0.2%),
medical care (+0.4%) and other goods and services (+0.5%). On the
downside, new vehicle prices -0.3% and used vehicle prices -0.1%. Energy
prices -1.6%, with gasoline prices -2.4%. Food prices modest +0.1%,
compared with the 1.0% price spike in the PPI, though food at home
-0.1%. The yr/yr pace of overall CPI now +3.4%, core CPI +2.2%.
