US DATA: Sep Dallas Fed services text says the sector gained: “The
revenue index, a key measure of state service sector conditions, climbed
from 3.2 to 14.1, with one third of respondents noting revenue increased
from August. Labor market indicators remained positive and reflected
some hiring but little change in the workweek. The employment index
edged up from 2.1 to 4.4, which is consistent with slightly more hiring
activity, although two-thirds of respondents noted no change in
employment. The hours worked index dropped to 0.9 in September,
suggesting average workweeks stalled.”
