Job advertising was weak
Online advertised vacancies decreased 267,300 to 4,482,900 in October, according to The Conference Board Help Wanted OnLine (HWOL) report.
The decline was widespread across virtually all states and categories.
The dip in this series undermines its usefulness. It hasn't tracked the big-picture improvement in US employment. The Conference Board says it's reviewing its methodology based on changes in how job postings appear online.
