I know you’re all gutted that NFP is off Friday as that spoils the chance of winning a fabulous ForexLive T-shirt. I’ve been scouring the interwebs for a replacement piece of economic data, but there’s nothing worthy out there. Not even Panama’s Child Labour data is released tomorrow.

With that in mind were going to just make it a lottery competition. Using a random number generator we’re going to do the NFP compo anyway. I’m going to use the consensus range of 0 to 300k (the min and max numbers) so place your guesses between those numbers. I’ll round up the generated number to the nearest thousand so if it comes out at 150700 the winning number will be 151k. I’ll also video the draw so you can see it’s not a fix.

Same rules apply as always;

  • Closest to the number wins
  • First to a particular number gets it
  • Deadline is tomorrow at 12.29.59 gmt when I leak the figure between 12.15-12.30 gmt
  • One guess per person unless the number has been taken
  • All guesses on this post only!

So roll up and have a crack. We’ll not let the US government shutdown our fun!

As a Brucie bonus I’m going to leak the number early and release it as a post sometime between 12.15 and 12.30 gmt. Aside from your main guesses, the first to react and copy the number as a comment on the release post will get a bonus t-shirt. So post your guess as normal here and between 12.15 and 12.30 gmt, on Friday, keep you eyes peeled for the winning number being published.
