–October Permits Originally Reported +10.9% To 653K Unit Rate

WASHINGTON (MNI) – The number of U.S. building permits issued in
October was revised down to an increase of up 9.3% to a 644,000 unit
annual rate, the Commerce Department’s Bureau of the Census said
Monday.

Permits issued were originally reported up 10.9% to a 653,000
unit rate.

The Census Bureau revises the latest building permits data on the
18th working day of the month, three to seven days after the release of
the preliminary estimate in the month housing starts and building
permits report.

Permits for single-family homes were revised lower to a gain of
3.6% at a 428,000 unit rate (previously up 5.1% at a 434,000 unit rate).
Permits for multi-unit buildings were revised down to a gain of 22.7% at
a 216,000 unit rate (previously up 24.4% at a 219,000 unit rate.)
