US wholesale inventories and wholesale trade sales for October 2020
- wholesale inventories rise by 1.1% vs. 0.9% preliminary for October 2020
- wholesale trade sales rose by 1.8% vs. 0.4% last month. Wholesale sales excluding automobiles rose 1.5%
- Also inventories excluding oil rose 1.3%
- inventory/sales ratio at 1.31 in October vs. 1.32 in the prior month
- durable goods inventories rose 0.3% vs. 0.2% last month
- nondurable goods inventories rose 2.5% vs. 1.9% last month led by drugs which increased by 3.9% vs. 3.5% last month
- computer inventories fell -2.3% vs. -1.6% prior month
- durable goods sales rose 2.0% vs. 1.1% led by autos which increased to 5.3%
- nondurable goods sales rose 1.7% vs. -0.2% last month. Petroleum sales increased 3.6% erasing the -3.7% decline last month. Drugs sales increase 1.9% vs. falling -0.6% last month
The inventory rise was the highest since January 2019 (1.2%).
