The Chinese government and its’ various engines always have reasons for what they say and do. Last week they were questioning the ability of the US to repay it’s debts and this week they have been calling for a new global currency to replace the USD as the world’s main reserve currency plus they called a bottom in the Chinese economy (read “white knight” to the rescue of the worlds’ economies!).
Judging by the events overnight, their comments are being taken very seriously indeed. China is a nation with thousands of years culture and history and as such they have learned to be patient. They have bided their time, waited for the right opportunity and now they are making a significant move to become the worlds second recognised superpower alongside the USA.
With the rest of the world looking to Asia for economic growth, they look to have picked a good time.
