Happy New Year to all. While this week will still be a little on the quiet side

(many traders will be taking an extended break), with the lower liquidity that implies, there is plenty coming up.

Here is the economic calendar due from Asia today:

2200 GMT - Australia - CAB's manufacturing PMI (for December), prior 56.3

2230 GMT - Australia - AiG's manufacturing PMI for December, prior 57.3

2300 GMT - Australia - CoreLogic Hose Prices for December, prior -0.1% m/m

0145 GMT - China - Caixin (i.e. the private survey) manufacturing PMI for December

• expected 50.7, prior 50.8

Later in the day, due at 0530 GMT, the Australian commodity price index for December. The prior was -3.3% y/y
