Eamonn is on vacation this week and next so I'll be doing my best to fill in.
The New Zealand dollar was the top performer last week and after all that hard work, kiwi traders are getting the day off today and so is everyone else. It's labor day in New Zealand so it's closed for holiday.
The calendar is light throughout the Asia-Pacific region. In fact, it's a light one right around the globe in terms of the economic calendar.

Japanese all-industry activity index at 0430 GMT
