The price of 3 pints (2 at London prices) will soon be able to get you to the States via Ryanair as they get ready to launch a low cost service. The airline will be hitting Boston and New York first and then 12-14 other destinations from 14 European departure points.
Aside from trying to capture a big slice of the corporate market, the fares will come with the usual pay-for-everything-else charges from meals to baggage to using the toilet.
For those that don’t know, Ryanair run budget flights across Europe with some fares in the low £1’s but they charge for every other aspect of the flight. They also tend to land in airports a zillion miles away from main towns and cities. That said, for a tenner I’d be happy to pop across for a few beers in NY.
All he needs is to find someone who can sell him 30-50 long haul aircraft on the cheap.
