As mentioned earlier, this is in part to do with some catch up to the gains in Wall Street overnight. Meanwhile, the overall risk mood so far today is more tentative with US futures looking rather flattish at the moment. Major currencies are also not showing much appetite, with markets eyeing tomorrow's US CPI data before firming up any further convictions it would seem.
