Japan chief cabinet secretary Matsuno says the government wants the average minimum wage hiked to 1000 yen.
The current hourly average minimum wage is just over 900 yen.
Yesterday we had the deputy governor of the Bank of Japan making the point that the current round of cost-push inflation (rising energy & food prices) would not boost inflation in a stable manner, and that wage rises would be needed to do so. This might be in response?
