In its latest assessment on the overall economy, the Japanese government reaffirmed that it is "showing signs of picking up". But they moved to downgrade their view on factory output, saying that conditions are stalling with uncertainty being presented from China's situation in dealing with COVID-19.
Besides that, the government raised its assessment of imports as it has stopped falling considering that the sharp decline in shipments from China appeared to be slowing.
