Taiwan is considering opening a representative office in Western Australia

Taipei has offices in Australia’s capital, Canberra, and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Western Australia is the country's largest exporter of iron ore (along with other minerals of course). While the Taiwan office would not be a first it is likely to raise the ire of mainland China. Relations between China and Australia are already strained.
