For the week small declines for the major indices
The Nasdaq composite index is ending the day unchanged but the other major indices are lower:
- The S&P index fell by 2.32 points or -0.09% at 2582.30. The high reached 2583.81. The low extended 2257.57.
- The NASDAQ composite index rose by 0.88 point or 0.01% (call it unchanged) at 6750.94. The high reached 6757.34. The low fell to 6727.34.
- The Dow industrial average fell by 39.73 points, or -0.17% at 23422.21. The high extended to 23452.20. The low fell to 23392.96.
For the week all the major indices were lower:
- S&P index fell -0.21%
- NASDAQ composite index fell -0.20%
- Dow industrial average fell -0.50%.
For the year all the major indices have solid gains:
- S&P index +19.14%
- NASDAQ composite index was 29.61%
- Dow industrial average +24.53%
