Infograph:Trends in the US employment statistics
Tomorrow at 8:30 AM ET, the US Employment statistics for December will be released. The release (with all the bells and whistles) is always well anticipated. It may not always provide the “rock and roll expectations”, but you never know, do you?
How I like to suggest trading the release and other thoughts, can be found HERE.
From what I see, the number should be around the estimate of 240K which is consistent with the trend growth experienced in 2014.
Specifically,
- Initial claims are steady to a little better this month. A month ago the 4 week average was around 298K. The average is 290.5 currently. Not much difference.
- ISM employment components were higher for Manufacturing this month, but a little lower for Non Manufacturing.
- ADP came in at 241K
For 2014, the average month job gain through November is 241K, the exact number for the ADP and just 1K off the consensus estimate for December. How much more plain vanilla would it be if it came out at the consensus, yet that is what it seems it should be.
Below are the trends in the major components for the US employment statistics for your pleasure.
